Interested in Helping Out?

If you are interested in volunteering in the library please email me at pbanko@stjosephschoolmendham.org
I need assistance in cataloging new books, updates to AR books, and book repairs. This would be a great opportunity for parents that are not able to come in for the in-class read-a-louds.

If you are interested in volunteering during the kindergarten through 4th grade library sessions please email me at pbanko@stjosephschoolmendham.org. The children and I would love to have you!

The current volunteer schedule can be found at the top of this webpage!!

The St. Joseph School Library is filled with great stories, listening kits with CDs and tapes, and computers to access our OPAC and the Internet. All students visit the library to see the newest books, check AR book levels, check out a book that fits them, and have a short library lesson. Do you have a favorite book from our library? Tell us about it.

Using Our Online Catalog (OPAC)

The OPAC is found on any school computer. It lists all the books on the shelves in three ways: by TITLE, by AUTHOR, and by SUBJECT. The buttons in OPAC let you pick the way to search. Sometimes, you may only know one word of the title. Use the KEYWORD button. Type dolphins. The book called, The Island of the Blue Dolphins has the word “dolphins” hiding in the title and it will appear.
