The Art Room
"CREATIVITY is allowing yourself to make mistakes.
ART is knowing which ones to keep."

We went from "Hot Chocolate Mugs" to Easter Eggs and Sprintime projects very quickly! Look for some delightful chicks and Easter bunnies outside of Kindergarten. Enjoy looking at the beautiful egg collections by the lower level grades. Students used crayons and oil pastels to design patterns on a large egg. The wax and oil acted as a resist to the watercolor they then put over the design. Students cut out and mounted the egg on brightly colored paper to rival Fabrege!
The upper grade students focused on a "Coat of Arms." After a discussion on the origins of the coat of arms and traditional designs, students began to design their own crest. They were very enthusiastic to incorporate traditional and original designs. After designing and coloring, students will display their crest on gold mountboard.

Again, thanks to the parents who volunteer to help in the younger classes 1st through 4th. Your presence is essential to making the class run smoothly and help with any unexpected student need. Again, I hope you will feel welcome in the art room and enjoy the art room experience!
Respectfully,

A person should
Hear a little
Music
Read a little
Poetry
And see a fine
Picture
Every day,
In order that
Worldly cares
May not obliterate
The sense of
The beautiful
Which God
Has inplanated in
The human soul.
