A Message from the Principal – Mrs. Helen Kelly
St. Joseph School is committed to partnering with parents in the education of their most precious gifts – their children. Education of the whole child – spiritually, academically, emotionally, socially, and physically - is of primary importance to the mission of our school. Through the dreams, ambition, and dedication of our faculty and staff, and our many families, St. Joseph School is Middle States Accredited and recognized as a Star School by the Paterson Diocese.
First and foremost, we are a Catholic School. Our vision and purpose flow from the Gospel message of faith, hope, and love. Teaching this message permeates our curriculum. Our students receive a value-based education where morals are stressed and taught throughout the day in every classroom. Through this Christ-centered environment, our social conscience is heightened enabling our students to be actively engaged in service and community projects. We understand the importance of giving back because we have been given so much. Praying together each day is a gift that we treasure.
At St. Joseph School, we have one class of every grade from Pre-K4 to grade 8. This provides us with a small nurturing environment where children are encouraged and cared for in a special way to reach their potential. St. Joseph School provides a supportive and faith-filled setting for its students to grow and learn.
Strong academics are of prime importance to the mission of our school. Our faculty is committed to professional development. All teachers are well trained in subject matter and methodologies. Staff development is a crucial part of improving the educational program, and teachers have taken advantage of a wide variety of opportunities to enhance their skills. They have a keen understanding about the different learning styles of our children and are dedicated to helping each child succeed.
