Welcome to the Athletic Department of St. Joseph School!
We are very proud to offer six junior varsity and varsity sports at St. Joseph.
The programs include the following:
- Boys and Girls Basketball from 3rd grade to 8th grade
- Boys and Girls Volleyball from 4th grade to 8th grade
- Boys and Girls Soccer from 5th grade to 8th grade
The success of the St. Joseph School athletic program has grown throughout the years. We are not only proud of our outstanding team accomplishments, but also of the grace and sportsmanship of our students and coaches. We look forward to a bright future.

Baseball
St Joseph School is pleased to announce the re-establishment of our Middle School baseball program open to all boys in grades 6 through 8. Our season will begin with indoor practice sessions in mid March 2011 in the gym after basketball season. Our team will play in April and May 2011 against local Middle School teams in our area. Our home games and outdoor practice sessions will take place at the Chester Babe Ruth Municipal Field (Major League dimensions) located on Main Street and Collis Lane, Chester Borough. Games will start at 3:45pm and end no later then 5:45pm.

Basketball
We are very proud to report that St. Joseph School had ten teams on the court for the 2009-2010 season. Over 150 basketball games were played with more than 100 children participating. Congratulations to all our coaches and players. Our BJV6 team (Head Coach John O'Brien) won their 2nd consecutive championship and BJV5 (Head Coach Michael Connolly) completed the regular season in 1st place and finished in 2nd place after making it to the Championship game.

Volleyball
Our Volleyball program is the fastest growing sport at SJS and both the Varsity and Junior Varsity teams had tremendous seasons led by coaches Karen Pope, Pak Liu, Lori Cawley and Lou Matirko. Both teams won the GIL Championship, Morris County Tournament and OLS Tournament! This will prove to be another great year for Volleyball!!

Soccer
Six years ago we joined the G.I.L. league in Essex County. This is a co-ed Catholic soccer league. We have won the County Championship for the last 6 years. Very exciting! This year we will have to defend our championship trophy and go for our seventh title.
